Joseph A. Irvine
B.A.(Hons), LL.B.
Joe practises primarily in the areas of family law, estate planning and administration and residential real estate. He has experience before all levels of Court in Ontario, as well as with alternative modes of dispute resolution such as mediation and Collaborative Law.
Joe was raised in New Hamburg, Ontario and completed his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in Honours History and Political Science at Huron University College at Western. He then left Southern Ontario for several years to complete his law degree at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver and to live and work in London, England. He was pleased to return to Waterloo Region in 2000 to complete his articles and then joined Giesbrecht, Griffin & Funk upon his call to the bar in 2002. Joe joined the partnership in 2007.
Joe lives in Waterloo with his wife and two lively children. Outside of his law practice and when not spending time with his family, he volunteers as a Director on the boards of non-profit organizations dedicated to assisting residents of Waterloo Region.
