Luba Yamoah
B.A.(Hons), LL.B.
Luba was born in Bratislava, Slovakia, and moved to Canada with her family, settling in Kitchener-Waterloo in her early youth.
Luba attended Bluevale Collegiate Institute, then pursued her undergraduate degree in Honours Political Science at Huron University College at the University of Western Ontario, where she graduated with distinction. Luba obtained her law degree from the University of Windsor. While in law school, Luba worked as both a caseworker and group advisor at Community Legal Aid, representing clients in both civil and criminal matters.
Luba summered and articled with Giesbrecht, Griffin, Funk & Irvine and was pleased to stay on with the firm as an associate following her Call to the Bar in June, 2009. Luba’s practice focuses primarily on family law and civil litigation and she also practices in the areas of wills, estates, and residential real estate. As a native Slovak speaker, Luba is pleased to converse with our clientele in the Slovak language, if required.
Luba is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Trial Lawyer’s Association and the Waterloo Law Association. Luba enjoys cross-country running, and has participated in a number of races geared at assisting charitable organizations.
Luba and her husband make their home in Kitchener.
