Karin is a partner with GGFI and leads the firm’s estate administration department. While her focus is currently assisting clients with estate administration matters, Karin also maintains an active real estate and estate planning practice and assists clients with residential purchases, sales and refinancing and the creation of wills and Powers of Attorney. In addition to these areas, Karin maintains a specialization in adoption law, providing legal services for stepparent and relative adoptions.
Having completed five years as managing partner for the firm in 2025 and twenty years with GGFI Law overall, Karin is looking forward to the future and continuing to provide timely and practical legal services to her clients for years to come.
Karin earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Honours Political Science at the University of Waterloo, followed by a law degree at Queen’s University. Karin articled with GGFI and was called to the Bar in 2005. Karin is fluent in German and can assist our German clients in their native tongue, if desired. Karin is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Waterloo Law Association.
In her free time, Karin enjoys horse-back riding, traveling and supporting her childrens' various activities. Karin resides with her husband and her two children in Kitchener.
